Ayurveda is a 5000 year old traditional system of medicine originating from the same ancient teachings as yoga. As in yoga, Ayurveda focuses on the development of the soul and, as a means to that end, the proper care of the body, the senses, and the mind. According to Ayurvedic philosophy, the body, mind, senses and spirit must exist in harmony for us to be truly healthy and happy. Therefore, the proper care of these four components of life must be considered, managed, and nourished throughout life.

In this workshop, Celia Gordon will give you a comprehensive overview of the history and philosophy of Ayurveda. You will then learn what it means to live an Ayurvedic Lifestyle through the practice of Dinacharya, or “Daily Regimen for Self-Care.” Celia will teach you some basic self-care techniques that you can implement in your daily routine to support the quest for balance and well-being. The day will conclude with a cooking class in Celia’s kitchen in Huntington Village where you will learn how to make ghee, nut milks, and some seasonal Ayurvedic dishes.

This is sure to be an afternoon of nourishment and enlightenment for the body, mind, senses and soul!
